Special 10th Anniversary Video

Well, last weekend, Megan and I celebrated our 10th anniversary with friends and family in the wine country. I will have pictures of that weekend and a more detailed description once all pictures are uploaded. Here is a video I made for Megan that I thought I would share with folks who would like to watch. Thanks to Sam for his help in making this video/slideshow.

Giants Irish Heritage Night #1

We headed out, with the Webers, to watch the Giants on one of their Irish heritage nights (we will be attending the 2nd one later this year as well). Before the game, those who bought tickets in the Irish section, were able to attend a pre-game party in one of the lots. Beers were cheaper than inside and we got 2 for one for the first round. We also all received t-shirts that are really cool. The plan was to meet at the train station and have a few beers on the ride up. Well, it seems that Sam picked up the wrong tickets as he ran out the door. They called us to let us know and said they would meet us up there. We decided, after hanging up, to wait for the next train so we could ride together. Fearing they would just drive up, we tried to call...unsuccessfully. Once the train passed, we stopped trying to call and wait for them to call us back. Well, they had raced home then raced to the next station up the line and caught the train we decided to miss. So, the call back came from the train. They wanted to know which car we were in! They got off that train and waited for us a couple stops up. Once finally together, things rolled on. At one point, the engineer let the kids stand in the door and watch as we came upon several tunnels. After a fun train ride, we made it to the pre-game party but were told the kids could not come in. The problem with that was that there never was mention that this party was only 21 and over anywhere. Sam made a point of this to the security guards. He pushed the point home after Heather and Megan took the kids to a park...far, far away. We grabbed our t-shirts and a couple beers and the security guy came up told Sam that they received permission to allow under 21 in. He texted Heather and they came back...from far, far away. Sam later gave the guards a beer each for listening to his issue.Once inside the park, we grabbed dinner...Sheboygan Brats and garlic fries....oh, and more beer. The kids were great, no arguing, just having fun. The only argument came when some grumpy New York Mets fan told Jack to stop kicking the back of the seat....the back of the empty seat next to her. Then her grumpy friend joined in and the argument ensued. Sam began chanting, "Here we go Cranky, here we go!!" A couple next to us were a bit surprised at the grumpiness of these people. The old, grumpy lady said at one point that she has arthritis in her back and the younger grumpy lady asked what we are teaching our children. Anyway, the Grumpies finally shut the holes under their noses and we went down to the slides for the kids after the fourth inning. More than anything else, the Grumpies made the evening more fun.Here are some photos all taken by Sam. This is just after we met up and they found us on the train:

Another fun evening with the Webers. I believe the next update to the blog will be a trip with the Webers plus other friends and family. We are spending Megan and my 10th anniversary in Cloverdale (Napa Valley region). Details and photos will follow.
